Navigating the Intricate World of Nanoimprint Lithography

The landscape of nanotechnology is an exhilarating frontier, studded with pioneering innovations in STEM and and Nanoimprint Lithography (NIL). It’s a domain where the learning curve is steep and the terminologies dense, but the rewards are nothing shy of worth it. That said, the rise of electronic device miniaturisation has sparked the demand for complex semiconductor systems and integrated nanopatterns. Naturally, advancing nanoimprint lithography into the spotlight. The good news is that this means the landscape of nanotechnology is ripe for pioneering study and exploration, and there is an increasing demand for nanoscale specialists.

However, with nanoimprint technology being a niche sphere of study often overlooked and with sophisticated equipment, pushing the industry to the next level with next-level minds is a gap not closed yet. Our mission at Stensborg is to bridge those overdue divides. We aim to empower the next-gen leaders to leave their own marks by making nanofabrication innovation accessible and engaging for intellectual growth.

Empowering Today’s Learners and Tomorrow’s Innovators

Inspiring theoretical knowledge with hands-on practice is at the core of what we do at Stensborg. We strive to dismantle the obstacles between classrooms and research labs, empowering enthusiastic learners to become catalysts for change. Our vision lies in our advanced technology and the philosophy that every student harbours the potential to redefine the future through creative and functional innovation.

Even as UV-NIL commands a considerable portion of the market, its full potential still needs to be explored. Disseminating knowledge about its benefits is as much about educating as it is about innovating, and we are committed to making a significant imprint on both sides of that coin.

Inside our labs, we have celebrated the insights of over ten passionate students, and today, 40% of our team comprises current or past students – bright minds who transitioned from classrooms to laboratories and have been integral to the evolution of what we do here.

A Glimpse into STEM Excellence at Stensborg

At Stensborg, we’re not just witnessing the evolution of products but the coming of age of exceptional individuals whose passion and expertise in STEM are pivotal to shaping the future of our technology.

Karlis: From Physics Student to R&D Engineer

Originally from Latvia, Karlis’s transition from a bright physics student at the Southern University of Denmark (SDU) to an R&D Engineer exemplifies the practical application of STEM education. With a Master of Engineering in Physics, focusing on optics, sensors, and nanotechnology, Karlis joined Stensborg in 2017.

His insightful oversight of our chemistry department has been pivotal in driving innovation and establishing a robust foundation for our dynamic R&D operations.

Currently, his role involves translating intricate proof-of-concept studies into viable R&D projects, like the pioneering EUDP funded ColorFoil initiative, and enhancing our chemistry lab’s collaborative efforts by mentoring new students. In addition, Karlis recently took on a senior role, enhancing our roller-based imprinting techniques, showcased featured in our Desktop R2P NanoImprinter, and advocating for its groundbreaking potential on global stages.

Leonor: Marketing Student Turned Manager

Coming from Portugal with a BA in Marketing Management from the ISCTE Business School, she landed at Stensborg’s shores in March 2022, bringing with her a fresh and innovative perspective. Not one to rest on her laurels, Leonor was simultaneously sharpening her skills with an MA in Brand Management and Marketing Communication at SDU.

Today, Leonor plays a pivotal role in crafting Stensborg’s captivating social media and online presence, contributing to our brand’s resonance through compelling graphics. Her transition into the role of Marketing Manager exemplifies her leadership abilities, guiding our narrative across Social Media, Events, Media content and more.

“My journey from marketing student to manager at Stensborg has been exhilarating. In a small tech company, I’ve explored various facets of marketing and witnessed the tangible impact of my efforts. What distinguishes Stensborg is its dynamic environment, presenting daily challenges and opportunities that hold the power to reshape the world.”
